Fundraising Opportunity

Posted on Jan 21 2013 - 7:43am
We have a great new fundraising opportunity that will not only earn some money for our Troop, but will also help save the environment.  What could this be you ask?  We will be collecting used inkjet printer and laser printer toner cartridges.  These can all be turned into our recycling partner for cash.  Spread the word to you family, friends, neighbors, employers, etc.  Ask them to save all of their empty inkjet cartridges and laser toners for you.  Please bring everything you collect to the Troop meeting and give them to Mr. Klein.  That's it!  Can get much easier than that!  All of the monies earned will go right back to the Troop!  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Klein.

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the most beneficial programs that your son can participate in as a youth learning important life skills based upon morality and values, building character, understanding the responsibilities of participating citizenship all while having fun.

Northern Tier High Adventurers Return!

Posted on Aug 2 2012 - 8:35am
Our 2 Northern Tier crews have returned from the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota and what an experience it was!  Both of our crews paddled and portaged for over 100 miles and earned Northern Tier's 100 Miler Award.  They also got in touch with their Reverant side and earned Northern Tier's Duty to God Award.  We will have some details to share with everyone at the Troop picnic, but please take a look at the Shutterfly site for pictures of the trip as they are posted.

Troop 63 has created a new policy that is in step with "Scouting's Barriers to Abuse" for all adults that wish to accompany our Troop on any overnight outing.  The policy is "All adults that wish to accompany the Troop on overnight outings will complete the Youth Protection Training (hereafter YPT) On-Line Class and give a copy of the certificate received at the end of the class to the Outing Leader of that overnight event PRIOR to attending the overnight outing."  The Outing Leader will make that certicate available to the Troop YPT Coordinator, currently Mr. Ken Carollo for processing in our Troop database.
