"Fun, fighting, and feeding! These are the three indispensable elements of the boy’s world." -- Lord Baden-Powell

Website Access

Posted on Mar 24 2015 - 9:03pm

For all of our new Scouts and families, we try to get access to the site setup as quickly as possible.  After your Scout's application has been submitted it may take us a week or so to get everything setup for your access.  At that point you should receive an email from us with your access information.  I would recommend checking your SPAM folder if you have not seen anything yet as some email providers may flag it as spam.  If you find it there simply mark it as not spam and you should be good.  If you have questions or issues please let us know via the "Contact Us" link on the left.

Attention Adult Leaders - YPT Announcement

Posted on Oct 17 2014 - 2:44pm

Rainbow Council is requiring that all Adult Leaders; Troop and Committee whose Youth Protection Training Certificates may expire before December 31, 2014 renew their YPT Training Certificates before the Troop turns in its Charter.  In the coming days each adult that volunteers for the Troop will be notified if your certificate is in this window.  This is important for us because we cannot include your name on the Charter if you are not renewed prior to the deadline of December 6th.  Turning in the Charter by that date makes the Troop to be eligible for Journey to Excellence recognition.

Hydraulics & Pneumatics Initiative

Posted on Apr 4 2014 - 11:03am
During recent meetings Troop 63 has been working on a project demonstrating hydraulic and pneumatic principles.  Mr. Sowatzke is part of a team that is putting together documentation that is hoped will turn into the Hydraulics and Pneumatics Merit Badge.   The BSA Hydraulics & Pneumatics Subcommittee of the International Fluid Power Society (IFPS) Education Committee feels that they have a “good chance for success” and plan on submitting an official application to create the badge later this fall.  Thanks to Mr. Sowatzke Troop 63 has been hosting the experimental programs to ascertain the interest level among Scouts.  To read more on this initiative check out the following link at the Fluid Power Society website:http://www.ifps.org/docs/news/detail.aspx?id=8a2736f9-a180-4305-8590-ab9f3f849a77

The Six Knot Challenge

Posted on May 25 2013 - 10:44pm

Can you do the Six Knot Challenge?  As created by the International Guild of Knot Tyers (yes there really is such an organization) it simply seeks to see how long it takes to tie a Sheet Bend, a Square knot, a Bowline, a round turn with two half-hitches, the sheepshank and the clove hitch.

Troop 63 Code of Conduct

Posted on Jan 29 2013 - 4:29pm

Just a reminder that all Scouts need to turn in their Code of Conduct page 3 from the document that was passed out at the December Family Night.  If you need a copy of the form I have attached it here below and it can also be found permanently in the Files section of the Troop website in the Misc Forms and Documents section.  Please turn in this signed document to Scoutmaster Rea as soon as possible.  Thank you.
