Scouting Quote of the Week:
"Scoutcraft is a means through which the veriest hooligan can be brought to higher thought and to the elements of faith in God; and, coupled with the Scout's obligation to do a good turn every day, it gives the base of Duty to God and to Neighbour on which the parent or pastor can build with greater ease the form of belief that is desired." Robert Baden-Powell

Class 'B' Uniform

Posted on May 22 2017 - 3:26pm

Now that the weather is nice and we are going outside more for meetings, scouts may wear their class 'B' uniform. The class 'B' is any scouting related shirt along with scout pants or jeans. You may wear shirts from summer camp, high adventure trips, cub scouts, or any shirt that is official BSA merchandise.

2017 PSR Summer Camp Merit Badge Offerings

Posted on Apr 13 2017 - 1:31pm

Hello Troop 63,

If your scout is planning on attending this year’s summer camp, he will need to have his desired merit badges choices submitted by the Tuesday April 25th meeting. Any late submissions will have a diminished chance of obtaining their desired choice. So in order to help the process along, I pulled together a few steps. I also includes the merit badge offerings for this summer’s Pathway to Eagle campout in August. This way your scout can compare offerings from both experiences.

Summer Camp Leaders and Parents Guide

This is the link to the leaders and parents guide from camp frontier. You can use this to see which merit badges are offered for summer camp (There is also a ton of other useful info for parents and scouts). Pay close attention to the section that lists the merit badge prerequisites, rank requirements, and age requirements. Also note that there is an extra cost for some of the merit badges.

Seabase Deposit

Posted on Mar 16 2017 - 12:21pm

There was a question asked about the Seabase deposit, and whether or not it was refundable. I checked the participant guide and found this:

Cancellation Policy Please notify Sea Base immediately if your crew intends to cancel.  Early notification of cancellation may result in the loss of the minimum amount of fees and will allow other Scouts the opportunity to attend Sea Base.
